Exciting news – my driving instructor badge has just been renewed until 31 October 2028! That means I’m set for another four years of helping learners hit the road, taking my total time in the job to an amazing 28 years.
It’s been an incredible journey since I first started out, and honestly, it doesn’t feel like it’s been that long. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of teaching so many people – from nervous first-timers to those who thought they’d never pass. Seeing someone go from a shaky first lesson to confidently driving away with their license never gets old.
Being a driving instructor isn’t just about teaching the basics; it’s about helping people gain independence and confidence. And let’s not forget the laughs, the challenges, and the unforgettable moments along the way (yes, I still remember the time someone accidentally hit the wipers instead of the brakes!).
The roads have changed a lot since I started – from roundabouts and reversing around corners to adapting to electric cars and new tech. But one thing has stayed the same: the joy of seeing someone achieve their goal.
So here’s to another four years of doing what I love. A big thank you to everyone who’s trusted me to guide them on their driving journey – past, present, and future. I couldn’t do it without you!
